Gli Ebrei a Pordenone e nel Friuli occidentale

Reconstructs episodes in the history and life of the Jews in the province of Pordenone and in the Friuli region (Friuli Venezia Julia) from their settlement in the 14th century until the persecutions of the 20th century. Pp. 31-38, "La campagna antiebraica indetta dagli ordini religiosi", describe hostility toward Jews promoted by the Franciscan and Dominican orders during the 15th-16th centuries, as well as restrictions and segregation imposed by the law. Pp. 83-123, "Dall'emancipazione alla tragedia", deal with the persecution of the Jews of Friuli between 1938-45: their situation under the Racial Laws, internment of foreign Jews, arrests and deportation after the Nazi occupation in September 1943, and resistance.
