What do Americans know about the Holocaust?

Presents results of the survey conducted for the American Jewish Committee by the Roper Organization in October-November 1992. 992 adult (18 years of age and older) respondents were interviewed, and 506 high-school students. The results show rampant ignorance of the Holocaust among a significant portion of the American population. Sizeable minorities of Americans are open to the idea that the Holocaust did not happen. Many maintain the view that the Holocaust is not relevant today. Education and not age is positively correlated with knowledge of the Holocaust.
