The architectural style combines the popular European 2 tower design for synagogues with an eclectic mix of Italiante and colonial elements. The congregation is conducting a progressive Reform snagogue. Their first permanent building was dedicated in 1856. This is their second building and it was dedicated in 1897 in the corner of Orange & Auduben streets in New Haven. This synagogue was in use until 1960 when they moved to another location. The building was sold in 1965 and is used nowadays as an Arts School. [E.B];Back Description - A divided back. On the upper right corner is a stamped one cent stamp. On the upper center is a postmark.
