The collection consists of different ephemeral items, mainly newspaper clippings, brochures, cards, stamps, etc., which were created by the Zionist Organization in Germany. Most of these items were collected by Norbert Weldler during his work at the headquarters of the Zionist Organization's offices in Munich, in 1915. Some documents in this collection are handwritten notes, probably taken by Weldler, during WWI. In addition there are five letters from Ricarda Huch and one from Franziska Mann to Weldler.

| תקציר ביוגרפי |
Norbert Weldler was born in 1884 in Vienna. He studied economics in Vienna and Berlin universities, and in 1906 started working at the Bureau für Statistik der Juden in Berlin. In 1910 Weldler moved to Munich, where he became the chief editor of the Jewish Zionist weekly "Jüdisches Echos". Weldler was an activ zionist from the beggining of 20th century. In 1920 Weldler moved to Zürich, where he lived for the rest of his life. Weldler was the author of a few important writings on social work in Judaism and Zionist bibliography. He was an active supporter of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the Jewish National and University Library. Norbert Weldler died in Zurich, Switzerland, in July 1961. |
