Willy Tonn (Berlin 1902 - Switzerland 1957) was a researcher of languages of the far east, who immigrated to Shanghai in 1939, where he became professor at two universities. In 1949 he emigrated to Israel. During his lifetime Tonn published many articles on the culture and languages of the far east and corresponded with Martin Buber on this topic. |
