Max Shats-Anin was a Jewish left - wing socialist in Latvia and the Soviet Union, who believed in a territorial solution for the Jewish people. He wrote about politics and literature, mainly in Yiddish, some in Russian, German and Latvian. |

The archive was permanently deposited in the National Library by Shats-Anin's daughter, Ruta Shatz-Mariasch, in 1993. Until then, the archive was stored with his family in Latvia. |
