Collection of seven volumes, containing the manuscript of Jacob Robinson's major book on international law: "International Law and Organization: General Sources of Information" (published in Leiden, 1967). On the English typescript, many handwritten remarks were added by the author.

| תקציר ביוגרפי |
Dr. Jacob Robinson was born in Lithuania, in 1889. In 1914 he graduated the Faculty of Law at the University of Warsaw. During WWI Robinson served at the Russian army. In 1918 he returned to Lithuania, and became there one of the leaders of the local Jewish community. In 1919 he founded the Hebrew Gymnasium in Virbalis and served there as director until 1922. In 1923 Robinson was elected as a member of the Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas). During the years 1923-1925 Robinson was co-editor of the Jewish Yiddish newspaper "די אידשע שטימע" in Kaunas (Kovno). During the years 1931-1933 Robinson was legal advisor to the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry. In 1940 Robinson escaped from Lithuania and immigrated to the U.S.A. He settled in New York, where he founded, in 1941, the Institute of Jewish Affairs. In 1947 Robinson was appointed as legal advisor to the Jewish Agency's commission in New York and later, legal advisor for other Israeli government institutions in the U.S. Dr. Jacob Robinson died in New York, in 1977. |
