Młodzieńcze lata

Schneider was born in 1920 in Vienna; in 1923 his family (he, his parents and a younger sister) moved to Kraków, where his two brothers were born. In 1933 his father died suddenly, and Artur (Artek) became the family provider. This volume relates the tragic fate of his family based solely on his memories, as Artur was the only survivor of his family and has no family documents to help him reconstruct their lives. His mother and youngest brother were killed during the liquidation of the Kraków ghetto; his sister died in 1944 while fighting with a partisan unit. Schneider, with his wife and two daughters, immigrated to Israel in 1968; he died in 2009.
