A thematic presentation of antisemitic caricatures in Arab-Muslim and Western media since the outbreak of the second Intifada in lsrael in 2000. Shows how medieval anti-Jewish Christian myths, discarded in the West after the Holocaust, were revived in the Arab-Muslim world in the wake of Israel's creation. Discusses the return of the deicide accusation, the blood libel, and the Jewish conspiracy theory from the Arab-Muslim world to the West through the intermediary of anti-globalization groups and the extreme right. With the aid of numerous examples, shows similarities between recently published cartoons and Nazi caricatures. In addition to images from the Palestinian Authority and neighboring Arab countries, as well as Western newspapers, presents virulently antisemitic cartoons by the Brazilian Carlos Latuff and caricatures posted on Holyward.org, an extremist right-wing web site. Also examines the role of antisemitism as a cultural code, and Israel as a metaphor for modernity and as a scapegoat in antisemitic cartoons.
