Reich is a graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he also wrote his Ph.D. on Jewish ritual baths in the Second Temple period, considered a seminal work on the subject. Since 1995, he has been a professor of archaeology at the University of Haifa. In 2000, Reich was awarded the Jerusalem Prize for Archaeological Research.

- Ronny Reich (born 1947) is an Israeli archaeologist, excavator and scholar of the ancient remains of Jerusalem. Born March 31, 1947, Rehovot, Israel. Nationality: Israel. Alma mater: Hebrew University of Jerusalem; Between 1978 and 1995 Reich worked for the Israel Department of Antiquities and Museums (IDAM) as director of its scientific archives. In 1995 Reich became a faculty member of the Department of Archaeology at the University of Haifa, teaching classical archaeology. He became associate professor in 2002 and full professor in 2006. Between 2002 and 2005 he served as the head of the department. Reich's main hobby is translating and publishing treatises on ancient architecture and art, plays and poetry into Hebrew ( (Wikipedia, April 12, 2021) )
