German Wikipedia, viewed September 27, 2018(Karl Preisendanz; full name: Karl Leberecht Reinhard Preisendanz; born July 22, 1883, in Ellmendingen (now part of Keltern, Baden-Württemberg); died April 26, 1968, in Heidelberg; German classicist, papyrologist and librarian; in 1916, he was named director of the manuscripts division of the Badische Landesbibliothek Karlsruhe and became the library's director in 1934; in 1935 he became director of the Universitätsbibliothek Heidelberg; he was dismissed from this post in 1945 but rejoined the library staff in 1949, retiring in 1951)
