Since 2000, archaeological research has been conducted at the site of the Sobibór death camp. This research has allowed historians to re-draw the map of the camp (which had been known before that only from plans drawn by survivors or perpetrators), and has led to the discovery of many mass graves. Describes the research work carried out at Sobibór by the joint Polish-Israeli team, headed by Haimi and Mazurek in 2007-13, and its findings. Discusses, in particular, the last expedition which located the "Himmelfahrstrasse" leading to the gas chambers, and found a previously unknown shooting range and a variety of installations that eluded earlier research. Based on the excavations carried out at the site between 2000-12, proposes a new layout of Sobibór (see the map on p. 86). Dwells on some artifacts found at the site, including a yellow star, coins from various countries, keys, medallions, and glassware. The archaeological research will be continuing.
