| תקציר/הערה |
Analyzes and compares how the Shoah is dealt with in four Quebec French-language novels published in the 1950s-60s: Gabrielle Roy's "Alexandre Chenevert" (1954), Yves Thériault's "Aaron" (1954), Gérard Bessette's "L'incubation" (1965), and Claude Jasmin's "Ethel et le terroriste" (1964). Describes similarities in the authors' treatment of guilt associated with the Shoah, and discusses their techniques for legitimizing their portrayal of events of which they have only indirect experience.
