השבת בעלי חיים לטבע הוא תהליך של עזרה למינים בסכנת הכחדה או שנפגעו ולעיתים גם נעלמו מן בית גידולם בטבע, במטרה לשמור על המינים ועל סביבתם. לעיתים משקמים גם מינים שאינם שייכים לאזור או שאינם בסכנה עולמית, אלא רק מקומית. במקרים מסוימים מחזירים לטבע גם בעלי חיים שנלכדו למטרות סחר או בעלי חיים שהתקרבו לאזורים מיושבים וקרבתם מסכנת אדם, מה שמצריך הרחקתם לטבע. מינים אלה מגודלים לרוב כבשבי, לעיתים בגרעיני רבייה כדי לעזור להם לשרוד עם התערבות אנושית חיונית, למשל הגנה מציידים, טורפים או מחלות. רק כשהאוכלוסייה שלהם גדלה מספיק ניתן להשיבם לטבע.
