Reuven Hecht (1909-1993) a Zionistic Revisionist, who made Alyiah to Eretz Israel in 1936. In 1939 he was sent, by David Raziel, to organize the 'Ha'apalah' (Aliyah Bet) from Europe and was a member of the Rescue Committee of the Jewish Agency. In 1950 he was a partner in the building of the grain elevators at the Haifa port. He served as a member of the Committee for the Design of Bills, Coins and Medals in the Archeological Council and a member of the Public Committee for Culture and Art of the Ministry of Education. Hecht was one of the founders of Haifa University and a member of the Board of Governors. In 1984, together with his wife Edith, he contributed towards the founding of the Hecht Museum at the Haifa University, which houses archeological finds from Israel and impressionistic art which he purchased. In 1988 he was awarded the Israel Prize for his special contribution to Israeli society. The gynecologist Dr. Rudolph (Zevulun) Ya'acobi (1886-1958). He studied medicine in Germany and specialized in surgery and gynecology in Berlin. He served as a medical officer in WWI and afterwards was the Director of a hospital in Belgium and France. He made aliyah to Eretz Israel in 1933 and settled in Haifa. He worked in the 'Molada' Hospital and was one of the founders of the 'Ezra' Hospital and the 'Elisha" Hospital. Dr. Ilse Ya'acobi, the wife of Rudolph Ya'acobi, was also a doctor. Dr. Kurt Denkvert, a dentist, made aliyah to Eretz Israel in 1932 and opened a clinic in the Achuza neighborhood in Haifa. He was Ben Gurion's dentist. The Amir Abdullah and other high society people came to his clinic. Mrs. Ilse Denkvert Dr. Lipman a dentist who lived on the Carmel. The psychiatrist Dr.Yoseph Prager and his wife, Dr. Shulamit Prager It is worthy to note that all the participants in the trip moved to Israel after Hitler came to power in 1933. اقرأ أكثر
