This date marks the inauguration of the French Authority by the bombing of Zénaga (the main 'quarter' of Figuig), after several expeditions of French troops, already installed for a long time on the Algerian territory. Figuig was thus brought back to the Makhzen power (governing elite). We can see on the postcard the French artillery crossing the Col de la Juive (pass) to take up its position in front of Zénaga.
