Jennie.;Front Period - 1899;Category - Synagogues;Description - A vertical postcard depicting the Temple Emanuel in 16th Avenue & Pearl street in Denver, Colorado. The architectural style is based on Moorish revival. It includes 2 turrents in the front, Star of David in the center and 2 Cupolas. The congregation was established in 1874 and is a Reform congregation. Their first temple was dedicated in 1875. The current building is their third temple. IT was built by John J. Humphreys and was dedicated in 1899. In 1924 an addition to the temple was built by Thielman Robert Wieger (this postcard is prior to the addition). The temple was in use until 1957 when a new temple was dedicated in 51 Grape Street. The building in Pearl Street is now known as the Pearl Street Temple Center and has become a multipurpose community performance and conference center.[E.B];Back Description - An undivided back.
