Many old citizens of Breda still know De Beyerd from that period of time. From 1981 until 2005, De Beyerd served as a centre for arts, with leading exhibitions on art, photography and graphic design. The transformation of De Beyerd to Graphic Design museum was started in the 1990s. Since the 1st of January 2008, the museum has become substantive. From the 9th of December 2011, the museum is officially known as Museum of the Image, or in short: MOTI. With the change of name, hopefully we emphasize the focus on visual culture. As part of Breda, city of visual culture, we hope to broaden the focus from graphic design to visual culture.)
