Contends that Belgian anti-Israel propaganda and sentiments, which have been popular since the 1980s, have antisemitic roots. The Belgian media often use Holocaust images in reports on Israel, particularly when equating Israel with Nazi Germany. States that the idea of Israelis killing totally innocent Palestinians eases the conscience of Belgians, who are aware that Nazi collaboration was widespread in the northern part of the country during World War II. The media also use traditional anti-Jewish stereotypes, such as the greedy Jew or the corrupt capitalist Jew. Christians and Muslims of the extreme Left and extreme Right scapegoat Israel and the Jews, viewing them as the root of all evil.
