Summarizes, volume by volume, the contents of Manes' "Documentary Report" on Theresienstadt. Manes, a Jew born in Eberfeld in 1875, was deported in 1942 from Berlin to Theresienstadt, where he worked in the so-called Orientation Service, and managed to organize a lecture series which became a prominent cultural event in the ghetto. The 1,000-page-long manuscript was compiled by Manes in 1942-44 and supplemented by many other people. It includes a chronicle of Theresienstadt, verses, prose works, drawings, biographies of some ghetto inmates, and other kinds of material. Manes and his wife were deported to Auschwitz and perished there. The manuscript was saved and deposited in the Wiener Library in London after the war.
