Analyzes the articles in two French newspapers - "Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace" and "Le Monde" - from the end of 1944 to 1946. Asserts that in this period the Jewish Holocaust is nearly non-existent in the articles concerning World War II. The writers describing concentration camps or their liberation mention French and Polish victims, or victims of other nationalities, without reference to or understanding of the specificity of the Jewish fate. Dealing with the Nuremberg Trials, French reporters, like the Soviets, never wrote about Jewish victims only the Americans and the British made the extermination of the Jews a central issue in the accusations against the Nazis.
