Photographs by Solomon Yudovin (1892-1954) taken during the ethnographic expeditions (1912-1914) of S. An-sky and in later years; Photographs by other photographers from other expeditions of the end of 19th - first half of the 20th century from the collection of State Museum of Ethnography of the Peoples of the USSR in Leningrad and photographs were received by the State Museum of Ethnography from the Berlin Jewish community in 1920s-1930s., saved by S. Yudovin; Photos of technical drawings made from Jewish tombstones, manuscripts and other objects of Jewish culture by S. Yudovin in the early 20th century, taken by Veniamin Lukin in 1990s; Photographs from the exhibition "Jews in Tsarist Russia and in the USSR", opened in 1939 at the State Museum of Ethnography in Leningrad, from collection of Veniamin Lukin; Copies of original photographs by S. Yudovin from the "Album of the Jewish ethnographic expedition named after Baron Horace Osipovich Ginzburg (July 1-October 15, 1912)", made by Veniamin Lukin in 1994. Some of original photographs were purchased by Tsilya Menjeritsky in 1986-1987 from Boris Yudovin, son of Solomon Yudovin. Another part of this collection is kept in the collection of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Some of original photographs purchase from S. Yudovin by Solomon Mikhoels (1890-1948) for the Moscow State Jewish (Yiddish) Theatre (GOSET). Originally this part of collection was part of Archives of Solomon Mikhoels. The authorship of some photographs is unknown. Some of photographs from Yudovin collection re-photographed in Leningrad by Alexander Frenkel in 1990. Original captions in Russian, German and Yidish from 1915-1930s made by S. Yudovin and others.
