Paul Glikson (1921 Warsaw – 1983 Jerusalem) was a publicist, translator, public activist and historian who specialized in the demography of Polish Jewry. His father, a joint owner of a bank in Warsaw, was a Zionist activist. In 1940 the family escaped to Eretz Israel, and Paul joined the Polish Army of General Anders. He studied economics at the University of Rome, University of Bologna, and at the London School of Economics and Political Science from which he graduated in 1951. He was secretary of the Cultural Department of the World Jewish Congress in London and editorial secretary of The Jewish Journal of Sociology. After he moved to Israel, he worked at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The collection contains materials on statistics of the Jewish population in Poland, on the history of the Polish Jewry, copies and fragments of various articles and books, and newspapers’ clippings and copies of Paul Glikson's commentaries. There are also lists of sources and literature on Polish-Jewish relations during different periods, and bibliographical lists. Statistical materials include lists of places of residence of the Jewish population in Poland with comments by Paul Glikson and statistical tables on the demography of the Jewish population in Poland during different periods. In addition, the collection also contains a card index of articles on the history of the Jews and their places of residence, a card index of places of residence of Jews in Poland and Galicia. The collection contains clippings from Israeli newspapers and the press in other countries. For example, there are clippings on antisemitism, World War II, the fate of Polish Jewish refugees, and famous Jews in the Jewish Chronicle, Haaretz, The Jerusalem Post, Dziennik Polski tydzien, The Times Literary Supplement (or TLS), and The Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ).

His mother graduated in stomatological studies from Warsaw University. In 1940 the family escaped to Eretz Israel, with the assistance of the Jewish Agency, and Paul joined the Polish Army of General Anders. He studied economics at the University of Rome, University of Bologna, and at the London School of Economics and Political Science in London from which he graduated in 1951. He was secretary of the Cultural Department of the World Jewish Congress in London and editorial secretary of The Jewish Journal of Sociology. After he moved to Israel, he worked at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Paul Glikson specialized in the demography of Polish Jewry, was a translator and a publicist. He died suddenly in January 1983.
