This year marks the fiftieth anniversery of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (19/4/93). The anniversary in one day after Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day. Tonight in Jeresalem, an hour after the end of Shabbat, 2,000 people attended the national ceremony at Yad Vashem to hear Chief Rabbi Lau, President Herzog and Prime Rabin inaugurate the day of rememberance for the six million Jews who perished under the Nazis. Rabbi Lau, himself a holocaust death camp survivor, said that while questions on the holocaust continue, Jews must continue to have faith in the God of Justice. Rabbi Lau went on to say that all six million are heroes even if they did not or could not take up arms against the Germans. We are peeple who know how to die together, now we must learn to live together.
