رقم النظام At Kfar Habad a new site has been designated for a house to be built for the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Schneerson. The proposed project is to be funded by a Tel-Aviv restaurant owner, Zusia Rivkin, who has provided money before for Habad projects in Israel. The project itself has without doubt had the approval of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in New York and might indicate that the Rebbe might be considering taking his first visit to Israel. Habad spokesman in Israel has said that the Rebbe neither approved nor disapproved of the project. Many Israelis have resented the fact that several times during the year there are pronouncements for Brooklyn telling Israelis what they should do or not do. This resentment is because of the fact that the Rebbe in many people's minds should be centered in Israel rather than Brooklyn. It is felt in many circles that the good work the Habad do all over the world could be orchestrated from Israel, rather than Crown Heights. There are many who regard the Rebbe as a Messiah, but the Rebbe himself has asked people not to indulge in such cult worship.
