A collection of the addresses delivered to the court at Papon's trial by Varault, Papon's defense attorney, on the 24th, 30th, and 31st of March and 1st of April 1998. Argues that the Vichy government should be judged rather than Papon. States that Papon only executed orders relating to the "statutes of the Jews" and that he did not know that deportation of the Jews led to their extermination.
