The scene takes place in what seems to be a room in a palace, with a high ceiling, columns, drapes, carpet and large arched windows. Plants can be seen through the Windows and a basket with flowers and a vase stand on a small table by the window. In the center of the room stands Delilah. She has long brown hair partly collected on her head and is dressed in an elaborate costume consisting from a white under dress and a flowing pink dress. She also wears earrings and bracelets but is barefoot. She is leaning on a purple staff partially hidden by her dress. Samson sits by Delilah on a cushion wearing a light blue shirt and a flowing blue skirt and is also barefoot. He has a beard and long curly brown hair, held at his forehead by a yellow hair band. He is lifting a lock of his hair and pointing at it, in what seems to be an explanation
