Integrating parents into teachers' professional jurisdiction

This study explores the role of parents within teachers’ professional jurisdiction and theprofessional skills teachers employ when interacting with parents. This topic is significant inthe field of education, as understanding the complex dynamics of parent-teacher relationshipscan lead to improved collaboration, communication, and overall educational outcomes forstudents. Despite its relevance, current research has a gap in examining the professional skillsand strategies teachers use in dealing with parents as part of their professional jurisdiction. This study questions the extent to which parents are considered part of teachers' professionaljurisdiction, and identifies the professional skills teachers use in their interactions with parents. -- From the abstract
