Judeoconversos hispanos

Presents a history of the Conversos in Spain in the 14th-17th centuries, focusing on cultural aspects of their lives - mainly relating to literature and religion. Describes, also, the conflicts which arose in relations between Conversos and the surrounding Christian society, such as the pogroms of 1391, the disputations and polemics of the 14th-15th centuries, the expulsion of 1492, the purity of blood statutes, and the persecution of Conversos by the Inquisition in the 16th-17th centuries. Pt. 3 (pp. 229-357) presents biographical information about famous and influential Spanish Conversos who lived in the 11th-17th centuries.
