Aus der Geschichte der jüdischen Gemeinde in Cloppenburg

Surveys the history of Jews in Cloppenburg since their settlement there in the 18th century. Pp. 66-109 discuss the Nazi period. In 1933 there were 39 Jews living in Cloppenburg. Describes the gradual exclusion of Jews from economic, social, and cultural life, the Nazi legislation, and the "Kristallnacht" pogrom, during which the synagogue was burned, homes and enterprises of Jews were demolished, and 12 Jewish men were arrested and interned in Sachsenhausen. 22 Jews emigrated, and ca. 20 perished in the Holocaust.
