Memoirs of a Jew from Sofia, Bulgaria, born in 1921. Pp. 81-139 relate his experiences in the Holocaust. After the Bulgarian alliance with Germany in 1941, anti-Jewish laws were instituted in Bulgaria. In May 1942 Rosenberg was drafted into a military labor battalion and released after six months; he was drafted again in spring 1943, but managed to change his status to that of a civilian government worker. Relates how, in May 1943, many of the Jews of Sofia were exiled to other cities or to rural areas. When other Jews then organized a protest march in Sofia, many of them were injured or arrested. The exiled Jews returned to Sofia in September 1944, after the Russian liberation, as did Rosenberg. He emigrated to Israel, with his wife and daughter, in 1948.
