Memoirs of a Jewish woman from Warsaw, born in 1924. Describes the German occupation and life in the ghetto. As members of the Dror youth movement, Folman and her two brothers, Wolf (Wewek) and Mordechai (Marek), were active in the resistance. The latter established underground schools and children's homes in various ghettos. Relates the activities of Dror, such as forging documents and smuggling weapons, and of its leaders, especially Yitzhak Zuckerman. Folman was a messenger for the organization. She was arrested with resistance fighters in Krakow in December 1942; the Nazis, who did not know that she was a Jew, sent her to Auschwitz as a political prisoner. Her brothers were killed by the Nazis in 1943. She was taken on a death march in January 1945 to Ravensbrück, where she was liberated a few months later. Folman returned to Poland and worked for the Dror movement until late 1947 when she emigrated to Eretz-Israel.
