Emissaries in wartime London, 1938-1945

Describes the authors' wartime activities in London as emissaries of the Jewish Agency. Dolf Michaelis initially worked for the Ha'avara Company trading with Germany. He was interned as an "enemy alien" by the British, and upon his release involved himself in informing Jews and Gentiles about the situation of the Jews in occupied Europe and problems facing the Yishuv in Palestine. Eva Michaelis discusses the background of Youth Aliya, its work in Europe during the war, her own work in the movement, first in Germany and then in London, and describes life in wartime London.
