Chamberet

Memoirs of a Jewish woman, born ca. 1936 in Paris. The book is written in a reflective and literary style, mainly from the point of view of the child she was then. During the war, the family moved to Chamberet in Limousin, where her father worked as a doctor until he died in a car accident in 1941. Her mother took over the medical practice and was active in the Resistance, but was arrested in 1944 and deported to Auschwitz; she survived the war.
