Children rescued from Austria in Norway; bringing the group in 1938 through the intervention of the Jewish community; its transfer to Sweeden; transfer of a group from Czechoslovakia with the help of Nansen Aid. Sent to Oslo in 1965 by request of Rabbi Gothhold from Misrad Hadatot, to establish contact with orphans from Czechia and Vienna who came to Scandinavia before the war. Getting deatails from the Jewish community in Oslo. One group of 25 children age 10-15 came from Vienna in 1938 by invitation of Jewish community in Oslo but after a while some of then returned to Austria, while the rest were adopted by Jewish families. Those families stayed in touch with them also after they were moved to orphanage in Oslo. In 1942 children smuggled to Sweden. A second group of 40 children age 13-14 came from Czechia with help of the Nansen Aid - a Christian Scandinavian fund. This group sent to Christian homes apart from one case in which Jewish community was afraid to be involved in this due to fear of Nazi regim. also in this case half of the group returned to Czechia and half smuggled to Sweden, during which two children were killed. Children of the second group later on not willing to be in touch with their Jewish past maybe because they did not get any Jewish education, a thing which the bodies that then took care of them regret.
