Those German workers (German citizens) becoming "the enemy" during the war and thus their freedom of movement restricted. For that reason English Jews joined the committee (like Vera Weizmann). Committee mainly raising funds for upkeep of refugee children, obtaining visas and temporary absorption places, and above all obtaining certificates for immigration to Eretz-Israel. Lack of appropriate absorption places mainly for religious youths. Some ten thousand ; refugees and youths dispersed in England; some sent to big farms, some to institutions, and some to Christian families (that group was lost for the Jewish people).
