The file contains:;a) an autograph letter of two pages written in Dijon on 9 December 1780 to de L'Isle in Paris concerning a translation of Bergman's work. The letter has a red seal.;b) an autograph draft for a letter written on 20 July 1780 to "Monsieur" concerning the chemist [Torbern?] Bergman.;c) an autograph letter of four pages written in Dijon on 19 July 1786 to Mompeti [?] concerning several chemical reactions and their application in porcelain production. The letter has a red seal.;d) an autograph letter of four pages written in Paris on 16 February 1810 to his nephew Guyton in Autun concerning chemical experiments and their publication. In addition, there is a typed transcript of the letter.

Louis Bernard Guyton de Morveau (1737-1816), French chemist and politician, among the founders of the École Polytechnique and the École de Mars, and was a professor of mineralogy at the Polytechnique (as well as its director in 1797). Preseident of the Académie des sciences in chemistry.
