Emanuel & Miryam Zurr

She worked in Kupat Holim from 1948 until her retirement in 1977. She then worked in Kupat Holim Meuhedet until the age of 83. She is known as the mythological pediatrician of Givatayim and whose patients came back to her with their children and even grandchildren. She received the award of "Yakir Givatayim " as a tribute for her contribution to the city. Emanuel and Miriam Tsur were expert bridge player, a game they learned from their parents. Miriam continued to play bridge until the age of 98. Their two children, Daphna Tsur Atlas, the eldest and Ron Tsur were born in Kfar Ono. Daphna studied chemistry at the Hebrew University and completed her M.A. and Ph.D. at the Weizman Institute. Daphna has two sons: Roi who completed his Ph.D at the Weizman Istitue in neuro-biology and Adi who studied archeology. Ron Tsur studied economics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He earned his MBA at the Insach School in Paris. He worked for a number of years in Phillips and remained living in Holland. He has two children: Uri who is an economist and Daphna who works in advertising. Emanuel Tsur continued to be interested in aviation even after he retired from the Israel Aircraft Industry. He has a membership to the Flight Journal. No new discovery passed him by! His remarkable artistic talents helped him pass his leisure time and he continued to draw beautiful oil paintings On April 13, 1991, at the age of 80, Emanuel passed away. He was buried in Nachalat Itzchak in Givatayim. Miriam, his wife, continued to work until the age of 83. She was remarkably active and maintained all her faculties until the day of her death on June 11, 2014. She was buried beside her beloved husband, Emanuel with whom she shared a full life. Read more
