| על גבול השמים בקצה מערבשוקעת השמש כדג של זהב,טובלת ספינה בגלים ירוקים,ספינה מפליגה אל סופי מרחקים.יצא הדייג הצעיר בספינה,לבן מפרשו, ורשתו לבנה.יצא הדייג הצעיר למרחבלדוג את השמש, את דג הזהב.מפליג ונוסע בים הירוק,והים עמוק והאופק רחוק,הרשת יורדת, הרשת עולה,שוקעת השמש עמוק במצולה.נוסע דייג ודרכו ארוכה,מוציא הדייג את רשתו הריקהורבים הימים ורבים הלילות,חשכו עיני הדייג הכחולות.יושבת בבית האם הזקנה,יושבת האם וחולמת על בנה:הפליגו לים עיניו הכחולות - כמה ימים, כמה לילות!והשחף בא אל האם הזקנה,דופק על חלון בכנף לבנה:"אויה לבנך שיצא למרחב,לבנך, לא מצא את דג הזהב!"יושבת האם לבדה, לבדה, בחוט ובבד לא תיגע עוד ידה,לא תבשל עוד ולא תתפור;"בני, גם בלי שמש היה לנו אור!"עוברים ימים וחולפים לילות,עיני האם עצובות וגדולות.יצא הבן למרחב ולא שב,והשמש שוקעת כדג של זהב. |
