Ownership history Dr. Aron Di Leone Leoni, b. Ferrara 1932- 2010, son of Rabbi Leone Leoni of Ferrara and Venice who famously fought against Fascist persecution of his communities in WW2. His son Aron di Leone Leoni became an avid historian of serfardi and marranos history, writing about marranos' presence and tradition in Ferrara, Ancona, Antwerp and London. This is reflected in the Leoni Collection.
