Host Item ילקוט מורשת פא (תשסו) 123-130
Description On 3 August 1944 the "Mefkure" sailed from Romania with two other refugee ships. The "Mefkure" carried 320 refugees, including orphans from Transnistria and Jews from Poland, Hungary, and Romania. On 5 August the ship was attacked in the Black Sea
it sank, leaving only five survivors besides the captain and some of the crew. Notes that the ship flew a Turkish flag and that it was ordered to stop but did not comply.
