מבחר מייצג של פריטים מתכנון תוכנית מִתאר מתוך אוסף אריה ואלדר שרון המופקד בארכיון עזריאלי לאדריכלות. קיבוץ שמיר התאגד ב–1936 משני גרעינים של השומר הצעיר, האחד מרומניה והשני מפולין, כאשר במהלך השנים נוספו לו כמה גרעינים ואחרים עזבו. תוכנית המִתאר לקיבוץ זה הוזמנה משרון על–ידי הסוכנות היהודית ב– 1944, לקראת עלייתו לקרקע במקום מושבו הנוכחי במזרח עמק החולה. הסוכנות ביקשה שהתוכנית תכלול בתי מגורים לחברים בתצורה של ארבע יחידות בבניין, חדר אוכל בגודל 350 מ"ר שאליו צמודה מאפייה, ובקרבת מקום בית תרבות. לילדים ולנוער התבקש שרון לתכנן אזור מוגן שלא ימוקם במרכז הקיבוץ, ובו בית תינוקות אחד עם כמה חדרים לגילאים השונים, שני בתי ילדים, מטבח לילדים ומחסן. למגורי הנוער התבקש תכנון בדגם של מגורי המבוגרים, עם חמישה בתים שבכל אחד מהם ארבעה חדרים, ובצמוד להם בית ספר וחדר אוכל נוסף. בין מבני המשק פורטו שלוש רפתות לכ–120 חולבות, רפת המלטה, מחלבה, לולים לכ–300 מטילות, אורוות, סככות למכונות חקלאיות, נגרייה, מסגרייה ובתי מלאכה נוספים, מחסן קירור ומחסן אריזה. על בסיס פרוגרמה זו הציע שרון שתי תוכניות, האחת ב–1944, והשנייה ב–1945 (כנראה מקצה שיפורים בתגובה להשגות של חברי הקיבוץ). ההבדל המרכזי בין התוכניות הוא בגודל: בתוכנית של 1945 הקיבוץ גדול יותר ומספר המבנים בו רב יותר. גם צורת החצר המרכזית שונה במקצת: בתוכנית של 1944 צורתה רי"ש, כאשר חדר האוכל ממוקם במרפק שבין שתי הצלעות – ואילו בתוכנית של 1945 צורתה מלבן. התוכנית של 1945 היא שנבחרה ויושמה בחלקה.
