8 pp.+ open sleeve with residues of two seal-wax; gilded-edged pages; stitched in the middle and attached with dark-green ribbon;;Certified copy, handwritten in English, (marked on back as No. 1, signed as certified copy by Vice-admiral J.T. Duckworth); the document was folded in four, and kept within a protective sleeve; On the sleeve, handwritten annotation in English: Note addressed by Vice-admiral Duckworth to the Sublime Porte, 21.2.1807, No. 1.;;The document from J.T. Duckworth, on board H.B.M.S the Royal George, near the Princes Islands, dated 21.2.1807, to the attention of the Supreme Porte, mentions hostile attacks perpetrated (on 19.2) on the British White Squadron by outer Castles of the Porte. The British refrained then from firing back. But after Porte's ships of war open fired at the British squadron near the castle of Abydos (French colors displayed, alluding to tacit consent of the Porte), all means of conciliation been exhausted, the British send warning on potential though unfortunate retaliations on their Capital [Constantinople], unless immediate surrender of all war ships and vessels of the Porte to the British;;[Sir John Thomas Duckworth, 1st Baronet, later admiral, (1748 – 1817); British Naval Commander];
