  • "על כל אלה" הוא עוד אחד משיריה הידועים והאהובים של נעמי שמר, המשמש עד היום באירועים וטקסים. הוא נכתב בשנת 1980, ובשנת 1981 נכלל באלבום השירים של נעמי שמר שנקרא על שם שורתו הראשונה, "על הדבש ועל העוקץ". לדברי אחותה של נעמי שמר, רותיק נוסבאום, השיר נכתב עבורה בעקבות פטירת בעלה, כשיר נחמה אישי-משפחתי.

    עם זאת, בעיני רבים התפרש שיר זה לאחר פרסומו כבעל משמעויות רחבות יותר, לאומיות, בעיקר סביב המאבק נגד הנסיגה מסיני שהתרחש באותו זמן

    ובאופן דומה שורות לא מעטות בשיר יכולות גם הן להתפרש באופן כללי יותר.

    זאת ועוד, לקראת ביצוע השיר לראשונה סיפרה נעמי שמר בראיון ל"מעריב" על השיר החדש, וכללה בו שתי שורות שלא הגיעו אל הנוסח הסופי והמוכר: "על כל אלה, על כל אלה, את סוכת שלומך תפרוש // אל נא תעקור נטוע, את ביתי אל תהרוס". אם כך, נראה שכבר מראש התכוון השיר לכרוך בקשות אישיות וכלליות בערבוביה (מה שאינו נדיר בשיריה של נעמי שמר).

    השיר בוצע לראשונה בשנת 1980 בפי יוסי בנאי בתוכנית הטלויזיה "ימי תשרי" והפך לאהוב באופן מיידי, הן בזכות המילים והן בזכות הלחן, שהוא נעים ורגוע, ואולי ניתן למצוא גם בו נימת בקשה ותפילה. כאמור, השיר הפך להמנונם של מתנגדי הנסיגה מסיני (שהתרחשה ב-1982), ואף ירד בשל כך מרשימת השירים המושמעים באותה תקופה, אך זה לא מנע את הצלחתו. השיר הפך לפופולרי ביותר וזכה לביצועים רבים מפי אמנים שונים ובסגנונות שונים במהלך השנים, ולרגל שנת ה-70 למדינה זכה לביצוע מחודש של 'קולולם', עם הזמר שלומי שבת, עם רובי ריבלין נשיא המדינה, ועם 12,000 איש בשירת המונים.
