Piyut Interpretation

  • • אֵלִי נֶאֱמָן – האל הנאמן לקיים הבטחתו ולשמור בריתו, לפי דברים ז, ט: וְיָדַעְתָּ כִּי ה' אֱלֹהֶיךָ הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים הָאֵל הַנֶּאֱמָן שֹׁמֵר הַבְּרִית וְהַחֶסֶד לְאֹהֲבָיו וּלְשֹׁמְרֵי מִצְוֹתָו לְאֶלֶף דּוֹר.
    • שְׁמַע קוֹלִי – לפי הפסוק מתהלים ה, ד: ה' בֹּקֶר תִּשְׁמַע קוֹלִי בֹּקֶר אֶעֱרָךְ לְךָ וַאֲצַפֶּה.
    • חִישׁ – מהר.
    • נֶאֱמָן – כינוי זה עשוי להיות מוסב הן על ישראל הן על הקב"ה.
    • בֶּן עַוְלָה... אָכַל חֵילִי – רשע, האויב, כילה את כוחי ונהנה ממנו. ביטוי זה לקוח מהקשר מהופך בישעיהו סא, ו: וְאַתֶּם כֹּהֲנֵי ה' תִּקָּרֵאוּ מְשָׁרְתֵי אֱלֹהֵינוּ יֵאָמֵר לָכֶם חֵיל גּוֹיִם תֹּאכֵלוּ וּבִכְבוֹדָם תִּתְיַמָּרוּ.
    • עֵינִי – קריאת חיבה לה', ששובצה כאן כדי לחקות את המצלול הערבי של השיר המקורי.
    • לֹא חָמַל – הרשע לא ריחם. שיבוץ הוא מאיכה ב, ב: בִּלַּע אֲדֹנָי וְלֹא חָמַל אֵת כָּל נְאוֹת יַעֲקֹב הָרַס בְּעֶבְרָתוֹ מִבְצְרֵי בַת יְהוּדָה הִגִּיעַ לָאָרֶץ חִלֵּל מַמְלָכָה וְשָׂרֶיהָ.
    • רִשְׁתוֹ טָמַן עַל עַם עָנִי – הטמין מלכודת לעם ישראל. הביטוי מופיע בתהלים ט, טז טָבְעוּ גוֹיִם בְּשַׁחַת עָשׂוּ בְּרֶשֶׁת זוּ טָמָנוּ נִלְכְּדָה רַגְלָם וכן שם לא, טז; שם לה, ח.
    • בְּזָדוֹן – ברשעות.
    • הִכָּה עֶדְרִי – פגע בעמי. דימוי ישראל לעדר מופיע במקומות שונים במקרא, למשל בישעיהו מ, י-יא: הִנֵּה ה'... כְּרֹעֶה עֶדְרוֹ יִרְעֶה בִּזְרֹעוֹ יְקַבֵּץ טְלָאִים וּבְחֵיקוֹ יִשָּׂא עָלוֹת יְנַהֵל.
    • וּבֵית מָלוֹן – הכה גם את המקדש, לפי פירושו של הרלב"ג לדברי ישעיהו אל סנחריב (ישעיהו יט, כג): בְּיַד מַלְאָכֶיךָ חֵרַפְתָּ אֲדֹנָי וַתֹּאמֶר בְּרֹב רִכְבִּי אֲנִי עָלִיתִי מְרוֹם הָרִים יַרְכְּתֵי לְבָנוֹן וְאֶכְרֹת קוֹמַת אֲרָזָיו מִבְחוֹר בְּרֹשָׁיו וְאָבוֹאָה מְלוֹן קִצֹּה יַעַר כַּרְמִלּוֹ.
