Piyut Interpretation

  • • אֲרוֹמִמְך יָהּ - ארומם את שמך, ה'. אספר את רוממותך וגדולתך.
    • כִּי דִילִיתָנִי - על כך שהושעת אותי, הגבהת אותי. מלשון דלה - מים שדולים ומעלים מבור.
    • שִׁוַּעְתִּי - התחננתי, זעקתי אליך בתפילה. כל השורה הזו נשענת על הפסוקים בתהלים (ל, ב-ג): אֲרוֹמִמְךָ ה' כִּי דִלִּיתָנִי... ה' אֱלֹהָי שִׁוַּעְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ וַתִּרְפָּאֵנִי.
    • מִמְצוּלוֹת מַכְאוֹב - ממעמקי הכאב, כאב עמוק.
    • וְכִצְרָף כֶּסֶף צְרַפְתַנִי - כשם שכשמבקשים לצרוף כסף ולהוציא ממנו את הסיגים יש להעבירו באש, כך תהליך היסורים והישועה של המשורר מתואר כזיקוק הכרוך בכאב (הדימוי מופיע גם בתהלים יז, ג).
    • בִימִין עֻזְךָ תְּמַכְתָּנִי - תמכת בי ועזרת לי בכוחך. הקישור בין ימין ותמיכה מופיע בישעיהו מא, י: כִּי אֲנִי אֱלֹהֶיךָ אִמַּצְתִּיךָ אַף עֲזַרְתִּיךָ אַף תְּמַכְתִּיךָ בִּימִין צִדְקִי. הקישור בין ימין ועוז מופיע בישעיה סב, ח: נִשְׁבַּע ה' בִּימִינוֹ וּבִזְרוֹעַ עֻזּוֹ.
    • עַד הֵנָּה חַסְדְּךָ עֲזָרַנִי - ברוב חסדיך עזרת לי עד עתה. לפי דברי שמואל (שמואל א ז, יב): עַד הֵנָּה עֲזָרָנוּ ה', המשובץ גם בברכת השיר (תפילת "נשמת כל חי"): עַד הֵנָּה עֲזָרוּנוּ רַחֲמֶיךָ וְלֹא עֲזָבוּנוּ חֲסָדֶיךָ.
    • אֲשׁוֹרֵר כְּשִׁיר מוּשִׁי וּמַחְלִי - מושי ומחלי היו לוויים (ראו למשל שמות ו, יט). אשורר לך שירים כפי שהיו משוררים הלוויים בבית המקדש.
    • הָפַכְתָּ מִסְפְּדִי לְמָחוֹל לִי וַתְּאַזְּרֵנִי שִׂמְחָה - הפכת את אבלי, צערי, לשמחה וחגרת אותי, הקפת אותי בשמחה. זהו שיבוץ מתהלים ל, יב: הָפַכְתָּ מִסְפְּדִי לְמָחוֹל לִי פִּתַּחְתָּ שַׂקִּי וַתְּאַזְּרֵנִי שִׂמְחָה.
    • נוֹתֵן לַיָּעֵף כֹּחַ וְעָצְמָה - על פי הלשון בישעיהו: נֹתֵן לַיָּעֵף כֹּחַ וּלְאֵין אוֹנִים עָצְמָה יַרְבֶּה.
    • עַל עֶרֶשׂ דְּוַי יִסְעָדֵנוּ - סועד את האדם גם כאשר הוא נוטה למות.
