| נושא ה"חדר" היה פופלרי בשירים ביידיש בשני צידי האוקיונוס; הדוגמא המובהקת והידועה ביותר הוא שירו המפורסם של מרק ורשבסקי משנת 1901, "אויפן פריפעטשיק" [על האח] שהפך לסמל של העולם היהודי הישן במזרח אירופה. השיר "אין חדר" פורסם בסנט פטרבורג בשנת 1914 עם הקדשה לחוקר המוזיקה זוסמן קיסלגוף. כעבור ארבע שנים בלבד, הוא פורסם כשיר עממי בספר בעריכת מנחם קיפניס, "60 פאלקסלידער", ורשה, 1918. שיר באותו שם פורסם בספר "אידישע ביהנע", ניו יורק, 1897. |
