Text on the back -No. 1 Hebrew Publishing Co.;Production period - ca. 1910;founders, architects, painters etc. - Jacob Keller;Front Period - ca. 1910;Category - Biblical scenes;Description - This horizontal postcard depicts Adam and Eve about to eat from the tree of knowledge as described in Genesis 3: 1-6. In the center of the image is the tree of knowledge with red fruit on it and the snake wrapped around it's branches. Under the tree stands Eve, who is holding on to a branch. She is naked and has long brown hair that hides her genitals. She hands a fruit to Adam who is sitting by her on the ground, also naked with genitals hidden behind a plant. Adam is reaching for the fruit, and both of them look at it, while the snake looks down at them. THe chracters are surrounded by various animals. On the left are a tiger, a camel and two ostriches. On the right are a lion, a bear, dear and birds. The whole scene is framed by greenery, that creates an arch. At the top appear the words A happy New Year לשנה טובה תכתבו. [A. R.]
