Text on the back -[Stamped:] SYNAGOGEN POSTKARTEN ZUM 45. JAHRESTAG DER KRISTALLNACHT [Printed:] Inneraum des Wiener Stadttempels (Stich um 1830). Trotz des Toleranzpatents Kaiser Josefs des II (1781) war nur eine geringe Anzahl Juden in Wien toleriert. Sie durften auch keine Gemeinde bilden und keine Synagoge erbauten. Erst 1823 gelang es, die Bwilligung zum Bau zu erlangen. Die Synagoge, im Dempfingerhof (Seitenstettengasse 4) errichtet, wurde am 9. April 1826 feierlich eingeweiht. Sie war die einzige Synagoge in Wien, die in der Reichskristallnacht am 9.
