Text on the back -Tripoli - Palazzo Nahum Edizione Benedetto Meghidesc, Fot. Bragoni;Production period - beginning of the 20th century;Front Period - beginning of the 20th century;Category - Sites;Description - This horizontal postcard depicts a photograph of the 'Palazzo Nahum' of Tripoli. It is a two-story building and is reminiscent of palaces of the Italian Renaissance. The Nahum family was a prominent and affluent Jewish family in Tripoli during the 20th century. Halfallah Nahum was elected in 1917 the first president of the newly reconstituted Jewish community of Tripoli under the Italian occupation. A collector's note on the back also informs us that the Nahum family had the monopoly of the wine trade at this period.
